312 23rd Street-Brooklyn NY-"Tear Down & Build Up"

In July of 2007, our neighbor at 312 23rd Street, Brooklyn, NY sold his circa 1900's wood frame 2 story home to a local developer. In a nutshell, tear down the old, build up with the new. Here's to a slightly biased documentation of the demolition of the "old" 312 23rd Street and construction of the "new" 312 23rd Street condos. Camera ready! Let's start shooting.

Not all photos will get captions, but where and when necessary, we'll add our 2 cents to the caption.

Please feel free to comment where you see fit, though we reserve the right to edit.

NOTE: if you use the "slide show" option (which is great), make sure to set the size to "640X640" or "800X800" to avoid those tiny shots :)

FYI, the "lot line" window shots will continue (those lovely overhead, looksie down images) as long as we have the window...which will be entombed at some point during the building of the "new" 312 23rd St. From there? I guess move to the roof :(

AND, have your own photos of this site? Send them to us, and we'll add them here. E-mail them to 31223rdst(at)ccgreenwoodhts.com and we'll add them to the site (pending approval).

And as always, if you see something fishy at 312, CALL 311, take a snapshot and let us know asap. We hope this new development site's documentation will be a treasure to remember and not an bad-boy to forget. So far so good (to be updated...)

>New Mechanical Demo on YouTube from January 16, 2008. And more from January 23, 2007 here (mech demo pt. 1) and here (mech demo pt. 2).

UPDATE: 07.12.08 We have decided to hold off with further photos as the crew at 312 23rd St. has completed the bricking of the second floor, and thus documentation is going to become fairly boring...just a growning brick wall. So if you want to view the ongoing construction at 312 23rd St., you'll have to stop by and see for yourself.

So far the project has gone off with out too many hitches. Fingers crossed that they will be done by spring 2009.
