Brick, Block and Steel Work Begins: June 2, 2008 until ???

So, part 3 of the project has begun. Demo done. Foundation done (thank God!) and now the masons begin their work.

In a nutshell, our friendly neighborhood developer is using a block, steel and brick method, one floor at a time (not the discussed "monolithic pour" method that would have had the piers and floors poured out off concrete, all at the same time, floor by floor). So, brick and block work is laid in first, steel is then brought in for the floor, decking laid down and the floor poured. Once the floor is dry, back to the brick and block work. One floor at a time.

Not only are the folks at Chez 311 happy with the masons, we love the new brick as well, Wakefield Bordeaux from Canada.

Supposedly this process, the exterior of the building, should be done by mid-July. Let's wait and see.

As a side note: we'll be taking more "passive" photos at this phase (and moving fwd). No need to find out who the knuckleheads are in Alex's crew (though he may not have any, we hope...)
