Brick and Block Days 04-06: June 10-June 16, 2008
So with more work at 312 23rd Street also comes some of the most brutally hot weather I think we have ever experienced this early in the summer. But, Alex's crew, on a mission for better paycheck (I guess), sweat it out working up the first floor to the second.
Though the heat must have gotten to one of the guys. Check out the photos where this genius bricked AROUND our gutter. Now, we had discussed with the site supervisor and the head mason that work may have to be done to move our gutter and adjust our back porch overhang, but this bozo decides to forgo chatting with us and puts his bricks around the open gutter. Thus, had we not been savvy and noticed this, anytime our gutter might have blocked up, it would have overflowed into 312 23rd Street's wall. Duh!
Some work by our friendly neighborhood developer's contractor, and by yours truly, and we're good to keep bricking and blocking so the next floor's steel can be dropped in and base poured.
PS. can you find a very "sleepy" concrete worker? Aw, so cute!
