Day 15's 3rd Floor Decking and BIG Balcony: June 24, 2008
The steel crew shows up on day 15 and begins the install of the 3rd floor steel and decking. Also, the first of the balconies go in (only permitted on the 3rd and 4th floors). But man, they look huge. Check the plans, and they are 3 ft longer...
Next day powwow with our friendly neighborhood developer and his subs, seems the architect had to make a change to the plans due to the fact they changed to brick, block and steel...thus a larger balcony. Our luck would have it, they now extend to the property line, along our house, on top of our bathroom window. Need I say more. While Chez 311 raised a stink (no pun intended), it is a structural decision, and the building WILL have balconies, so choose our battles, I guess. Though this may have been a deal breaker.
Sad. But, we move on.
