While it’s technically in Windsor Terrace, with the influx of new families in the neighborhood, thought we’d forward this e-mail from Stable Brooklyn and CM Brad Lander’s office. The meeting it tomorrow evening, Tuesday, August 14th., 6:30pm at the Windsor Terrace Library: 160 E. 5th Street. The School Construction Authority will be coming talk to the community and CB7 about the start of construction for PS/IS 437.
I wanted to remind you that tomorrow evening Tuesday, August 14th the School Construction Authority will be coming to Windsor Terrace to talk to the community about the start of construction for PS/IS 437. The meeting will be at 6:30pm at the Windsor Terrace Library: 160 E. 5th Street
As I mentioned last week, the New York City School Construction Authority is going to begin construction of a new elementary and middle school at 701 Caton Avenue, near East 7th Street, in Windsor Terrace / Kensington. When completed in 2015, PS/IS 437 will serve approximately 750 students in Community School District 15.
While many of us are excited about having more elementary and middle school seats in Windsor Terrace and Kensington, the construction of the new school will inevitably have an impact on the surrounding area. My office and the Brooklyn Community Board 7 Education Committee have invited the School Construction Authority to a community meeting where they can share information about the construction project and their plans to minimize the project’s impact on the new school’s neighbors.
I hope you can join me tomorrow Tuesday, August 14th at 6:30 at the Windsor Terrace Library: 160 E. 5th Street, to hear from the School Construction Authority about the construction of PS/IS 437. If you have any questions, you can call Yvette Knight, Project Support Manager, at (718) 472-8199.
