Fresh from the 23rd St Neighbors Assoc., there will be a transportation committee meeting is Tuesday 3/24, 6:30pm at Community Board 7 to discuss a proposed, and as per the Association poster’s email “This is a very dangerous corner at which there have already been a number of accidents. Something need to be done ASAP,” corner of 7th Avenue and 22nd Street, along with a speed bump on the same block.
To find out more, and sign the ipetition, you can go here (for the entire email, see below).
I’ve been working with Molly to get Stop Sign placed on the corner of 22nd and 7th. There is a Community Board committee meeting on Tuesday at 6:30 to discuss the matter (see the flyer attached for info) Feel free to come out if you’d like your voice to be heard. Some of you have already signed the petition asking for a stop sign. If you have not please follow the link below and add your name.

It also seems that some of our neighbors on 22nd street between 6th and 7th) have requested a speed bump. That will also be brought up at the meeting, so it’s a good two for one chance to make our community safer. As 23rd and 22nd are often used as a cut through for people heading to and from the Expressway and eager to avoid the lights on 5th Ave our neighborhood needs to do as much as possible to create safer streets for all our residents.
Lets get this done! (And then try again for the stop sign on 23rd and 6th!) Hope to see you there.
Seems spring has sprung and so have many long awaited speed bumps (or is that humps?) in GWH. 23rd St. between 6th and 7th Aves. got theirs on Monday (and BUMP marks at 2 AM in the morning!).
Any other new ones out there we don’t know of? Are they reducing speeders or just changing traffic patterns? We’d love to know. Post below.
